OPT or Optional Practical Training is employment authorization that allows F-1 students to apply knowledge gained in the classroom to a practical work experience. Students may be entitled to up to 12 months of optional practical training at the end of their degree programme without the need to obtain an H1B visa.
For students who are on OPT, you will typically not be eligible for your schools insurance plan and your employer may not provide international health insurance, or you simply need coverage until you have found a permanent position. Either way, we can offer an international insurance plan that will cover you for up to 12 months.
